I cant add my written posts under my catetgories

    Hi guys I’ve been trying for 3 days to add my blog posts to my catetgories and I can’t.

    My catetgories I can see on my drop down menu but I can’t add my posts in any off themy.

    I need help in layman terms as I don’t understand code and I’m new to wordpress.

    Thank you everyone I have read all the results in relation to my question and tried everything to no avail.

  • If you are being successful in adding the post to a category, then you may not be viewing the category page correctly. First, I would make sure that if you navigate to a post in your admin area and edit a post. Make sure that you can see the category SELECTED in your categories meta-box, usually on the right hand side.

    If this is true, then navigate to your posts section of your admin and open the categories. From there, you can VIEW your category from the front end. All of the posts in that category should display correctly.

    The category view can be added to your menu by adding a custom link. I hope this resolves your issue.

    Hi Bob,

    First and foremost thank you for coming back too me!

    Turns out which I found out myself, the reason why it wasn’t showing is I hadn’t published anything! I haven’t launched my site so I’ve got a lot of “save as draft” anyway I’m well on my way for now thank you again.

    I am glad that you were able to work out your issue. I know it drives me crazy when I have done something simple that completely derails everything else I am doing. I am just glad you were able to get it resolved. Good luck with your project.
