• Our website supports a community of senior adults with varying skill levels/capabilities. I would like to modify the UI to be appropriate for the individual user. Ideally, I’d like to assign a theme based on the user’s login credentials. Near as I can tell, that is not possible.
Unfortunately, having different websites would not work well since it would force much content duplication.

Any ideas on how to accomplish something like this?

    Thx, Don

  • Since there is no way for WP (or any CMS) to know the site visitor’s age or skill level when they first come to the site and/or are not logged in, why not let them choose their theme?

Lots of info out there on how to create a “theme switcher’ and load of sites do this, you could make it really obvious on your home page, then let THEM decide which theme they prefer. They can keep it as a preference setting in their user profile, but if not logged in then they can click on a button or image or whatever you deem appropriate that says “Use the Easy Theme” or “Use the Hard Theme”, LOL.
