There isn’t a built in way to show the number of comments on each post with Cubic.

You can usually add that sort of functionality to a theme via a child theme.

Cubic is already a child theme to Boardwalk, which makes it a little trickier to add the functionality you’re after.

You could either create a child theme to Boardwalk and copy/paste the existing files from Cubic to it or try a grandchild theme plugin:
