I really need another option

  • Could someone please recommend a better blog solution. I have tweaked my template and CSS so much, trying to make my blog look and feel like it’s up to date and current, that now I cannot change templates. I’m stuck with an unruley, unfriendly nightmare!

    I have been battling this WP system for over a month and I give up. Would someone PLEASE recommend a simple, customizeable, user friendly blog system that can be self hosted AND uses NORMAL url formatting? I’ve got to have a search engine compatible blog. I need sidebar, Flickr, easy links, comments, just like blogspot only self hosted so search engines can actually find it!

    I am new to blogging and so far it’s not going well. I think it’s the WP system. Way too many problems and way too complicated. This forum doesn’t even notify me of posts/answers to my questions so nothing ever gets resolved. I think I need to find a better way.

    Try before you buy, but dont expect anythng there to be any simpler.

    No matter what anyone says, any kind of CMS is not easy for anyone who is not an expert/nerd. and even they have problems. Good luck in your search.
    Just google for CMS and blog programs. check out their sites, their demos and their forums. Takes time, but you might get lucky.
    As far as WordPress being simple, it was. then came updates, and problems with each one. I can totally relate to your frustration.

    I can also, there are too many errors, and WordPress was simple until it started updated like every other week, find one, and make it work.
