• Hey there!

This is my first real time developing a wordpress site locally using MAMP.
I started working on this website online but the server i was developing on was too slow for my taste. So i decided to try working locally.

I’ve downloaded and exported the database and the complete filesystem.
I did a fresh install of wordpress locally
I’ve imported the website i made online in the local version.

All seemed to work well but my database started having weird ‘flaws’ . Since it was very late at night and i was very tired while working on this website i don’t really remember all the weird stuff.

However, now i’ve came to a point where i seem to not be able to publish an new page or post or upload media. I’m getting an “Submit For Review” instead of a “Publish” button.

I’ve tried another fresh install of wordpress. i’ve tried disabling all the plugins via FTP, dashboard and mysql.
I’ve checked my administrator permissions in the database, something like this:
    a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;}. Which checked out.

So i’m running out of options. How can i tell if my database has errors or flaws in it? Is there a way to test it? Because in a situation like this my only option seems to be to start all over again with a fresh and new database, i certainly hope that’s not the case!

    Plugins i use:
    Backwpup
    Duplicate Post plugin
    Essential Grid
    jQuery updater
    Slider revolution
    Events calendar
    Velvet blues update URLS
    Wordfence Security
    Wordpress import
    WP cleanup optimizer lite
    WP instagram widget
    WP smush
    WP bakery visual composer

    And theme:
    Dentalux 1.4

I really really really hope someone can help me out on this one!

  • When you imported a copy of the online database into your local hosted install, did you first carry out a search & replace using one of the methods recommended in Moving_WordPress?

    Yes,

    I followed these steps:
” Changing Your Domain Name and URLs “

But i didn’t use PHPmyadmin to search and replace the old URL.
I used the Velvet blues update URL plugin to search and replace.
