    Hi,

I have live site, and I want to copy to localhost for backup and testing purpose. Copying is not issue, but a question came up in my mind. Maybe I didn’t go far enough, but I couldn’t search this exact question on forum.

If I make a copy my site to my laptop, What happens to plugins that I purchased, for single site?

I’m using paid theme, and couple of paid plug-ins which I didn’t purchase multi-site license. Will that be an issue? More importantly, will that cause any conflicts if these plugins are integrated with something else (like google)?

    Thanks,

That really depends on the specific plugin/theme.

Some only ping their authorization server once, in which case you can use them on localhost as long as you cloned the database exactly. Some ping their authorization server every use, in which case you won’t be able to use it on localhost, as the ping won’t be able to return. Some offer a development mode, which will cripple the plugin/theme a bit, but will allow it to function on localhost without authorization.

    Understand. Thanks for the explanation.
I will contact each premium plugin authors to see what they allow.

    Thank you!
