Wordfence causes the image cleanup not to work.

  • When attempting to run the image cleanup. I kept getting the message, “A background request to WordPress was just blocked for the URL /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php”

    Turns out the issue what that wordfence was blocking the plugin from working. Disabling wordfence while the cleanup was running fixed the issue.

    I don’t have a problem anymore, I just wanted to put this out there for anyone else who has this issue in the future.

    Hi,

    thank you for reporting this, I assume the request looks suspicious to the Wordfence for some reason, or it just blocks all of such requests. I’ll try to research this some more to see if we can avoid triggering their detection, though not likely (as that would then be possible for the real attacker as well).
