  • Hi Ron!

The slug field is for your permalink structure. A slug is a URL-friendly version of your post or page title. It’s the part that comes after your main domain name.

If you wish to change the slug to something different, that field allows you to change the slug right there.

In changing the slug, your permalink name/ URL will also change.

So, if the website name is (for example) nuts.com and if a page in the website is named “salted”, the permalink would be https://www.nuts.com/salted. Is the slug field there just to make it easy to insert the page name (or what you call the “slug”) at the end of the permalink address?
