Bug: "Show Google Map" option of Venue is overwritten by Event

  • Hi there,

    I’ve done some testing on a clean WordPress installation with only TEC activated and I think I found a bug.

    When you create a new Event, you can create a new venue or use a saved one. The problem is: When you use a saved Venue, the 2 checkboxes “Show Google Map” and “Show Google Maps Link” are still visible.

    This option is somehow saved on the Event object and overwrites the option of the Venue object (for example, if you have unchecked them, the Google Map is not shown, even if you have the checkboxes activated on the Venue):

    The problem: When you edit an event, those 2 Checkboxes are not visible. So you can’t change this later and as a workaround you have to delete the event and create a new one:

    I’m not sure what the expected behaviour is:

    1. Those 2 checkboxes should NOT be visible when you CREATE a new Event using an existing Venue.
    2. Or: Those 2 checkboxes should be visible when you EDIT an existing event (so you can overwrite the Venue option).

    Thanks so much for your thorough testing and for providing such a detailed report–it’s a huge help! I’ve gone ahead and submitted a ticket for this bug to be reviewed by our developers. While I don’t have a concrete timeframe for when it will be patched up, I’ve noted this thread in the ticket and will do my best to follow up with you directly here when it’s released.
