    Hi

I’ve had a warning from Wordfence that two Bulletproof Security plugin files have been modified.

    These are the 2 files:

    wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/readme.txt

    wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/admin/htaccess/secure.htaccess

Quite a lot has been changed on the readme file.

I’m not sure what’s changed in the htaccess file because I get a “403 Forbidden Error Page” when I click the Wordfence “see how the file has changed” link.

Did you make these changes maybe?

I hope it’s nothing serious and can easily be sorted out.

Look forward to hearing from you, thanks ??

Sounds like Wordfence is just malfunctioning or doing something it should not be doing. Yes, a lot has changed in the BPS readme.txt file, but changes to a plugin’s readme.txt file is a normal/standard thing that occurs every time a new version of any plugin is released. So I am not sure why Wordfence is even looking at other plugin’s readme.txt files. That does not make any logical sense to me. The BPS htaccess files will also change with every new BPS plugin version release. So not sure what to tell you about what Wordfence is doing since that is also a normal/standard thing.

So in summary, yes things in BPS will always change in every new BPS version release since this is a normal/standard thing for every WordPress plugin.

For the 403 error in Wordfence go to the BPS Security Log and post the 403 error from your Security Log so I can see it.

If you want to completely eliminate that BPS is causing the 403 error you can do troubleshooting steps #2 and #3: https://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/read-me-first-free/#bps-free-general-troubleshooting
