Activated this plugin and now am getting jQuery errors

I activated this plugin and when I view my site, it seems that Jquery either isn’t being loaded or isn’t working. I’m getting this error:
Uncaught TypeError: $ is not a function
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated
