I’m suddenly getting hit with a lot of bad login attempts. Hundreds per hour.

The IP addresses appear to be random – no obvious repeats. But the attempts are always against several specific user accounts, for example admin, administrator and several others that don’t even exist.

Is there some place to list user names to be automatically blocked?

I would prefer not to automatically block all attempts to non-existent user names because it’s too easy to enter the wrong ID once or twice so I would get lots of users complaining.

As you have mentioned already we have the “non-existent” username blocking but there is no specific username blocking list.

Have you hidden your login page using one of the brute force features? That should stop all of those brute force attempts.
