Next and Previous giving bad URI’s?

When I use the back and forth links (like here), I get links that look like this:
https://binarybonsai.com/archivespage.php?year=2004&monthnum=07&day=&name=&page=&paged=2
When really they should look like this:
https://binarybonsai.com/archives/2004/07/paged=2
I don’t understand why…
