I’ve received a bunch of complaints over the last week about our podcast not playing. All of the problems seem to revolve around people trying to play the episodes on their iPhone or iPad using Safari or the podcast app. Several have also had problems using Overcast on their phone/tablet.

I’ve also tested the problem on several Macs with the latest version of OS X and Safari and the podcasts never play. The download links work, but the episodes don’t play in the media player or a new window. It’s the same using Firefox. The problem doesn’t happen when using Chrome or Opera, however.

Is there a fix for this or is it something on Apple’s end?

    Thanks,

  • +1 on that. I just wanted to confirm that we are also experiencing the same issue since updating to version 1.14.6.

Thanks for the input and sorry for the delay, but this has now been fixed in the latest release (v1.14.7) that will be available in your dashboards within the next hour.

The fixes in this release sort out the file URLs and file loading once and for all, so this kind of issue should not be able to rear its head again.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Hugh,

Thanks for jumping on this so quickly. Can’t wait to update and have the podcast fully functional again.

Thanks again for fixing the problem and such a great plugin.
