    Hi

    Noobie alert…
I’ve just installed WordPress (2.5) and signed up for Feedburner. However when I click on RSS button on my blog the link is still mydomain.com/blog/feed, whereas on other sites I’ve seen it should be feeds.feedburner.com/mydomain.

    What am I doing wrong?
I have activated Feedsmith, gone to Settings>Feedburner in Admin and typed in the correct feedburner links i.e feeds.feedburner.com/mydomain.
IS there anywhere else I need to update the feed links to point to Feedburner?

    Many thanks

    Rob

    If I type in…
    feeds.feedburner.com/mydomain
then I get my RSS feed.

    So Feedburner is working ok.
It’s just that my blog, when I click on the RSS link, is still linking to…
    https://www.mydomain.com/feed

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Rob

You should edit your template file(s) to replace the link that points to your own WP generated feed with the feedburner link.

I’m using the feedburner feedsmith plugin.

The auto-generated links worked, even though a mouse over the links shows the old https://www.myblog.com/?feed=rss. I think the plugin redirects anyone looking for the old RSS feed to feedburner.

I had the old RSS feed address hard coded in a Text Widget, which I changed, but later noticed the meta widget also had the old feed. When I clicked on the old feed, I was taken to FeedBurner.

I don’t think you have to hard code anything. Are you using anything that caches your pages, like wp-cache? Once the plugin is installed and configured it should redirect everything.

    Hi

    Thanks for your replies.
It seems to be working now, although I don’t know what’s changed. Maybe it took time to update?

    Many thanks

The feedburner feedsmith plugin redirects visitors to your normal feed to the FeedBurner one. This is preferable to theme editing, because if you ever decide to stop using feedburner, your feed link won’t change.

I used cutline and the “anyany” plugin in 2.5.1. you must re-edit both codes to point to the right URL. my always pointed to rss2. i removed the “2” in both codes and it worked.

FIRST, use a blank webpage to make sure that new url points correctly before attemption changing the code. if it does, look to change the hardwired 2 in rss2 (find>replace)
