instaling front static page

  • hi I’ve got a link on my template that says HOME
    I’m trying to create a static page for my home page and link it with
    HOME link on my template could someone please give me some instruction?

    i also would like to add digg button to my comments what sort of plug in should i use i’ve tried auto social poster but it only seems to have del.ico.us on it

  • 1 question at a time. In WordPress “Options” click on “Reading” and click “Front page displays” – “Static Page”

    Thanks chabotjeff but i couldn’t see the option tab on v2.5 all i can see is setting tab and when i click on reading i can’t see the option to display a static page

    In WP 2.5 when you go to Settings >Reading there is a section at the top that says

    “Front Page Displays” with two radio buttons:
    – Your latest Posts (default – should be selected) (and)
    – A static Page (select below)

    Edit: Added – choose the second one (A static page) to have a static page

    From the dropdown boxes you would choose which page you want to be your site’s static Home Page, and which Page should be your blog posts page…..
