Overwrote Index.htm

  • I uploaded a file that I made,just to view it on my site. I had made the name different than any file on the site but I must of missed something when the software FTP uploaded it and it wrote over my index.htm.

    Now I lost my home page. I went into the WP control panel and under home page it is still the original page information and pictures.

    How can I republish this so it will overwrite the new index file?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    index.htm is not a WordPress file.

    Ha! That is the answer that I needed. I realized as soon as I read your reply that all I had to do was delete the index.html file. I did and the original WP page came right up.

    Thanks. Sometimes it is the simplest answer that sparks the answer.
