• I need to make some pages visible ONLY to logged in users.

(they have received their credentials from the site admins; no open registration)

I am using WordPress 2.1.3 and Disclose Secret.
I would like to upgrade to WP 2.5.
Disclose Secret, however, fails to protect pages on WP 2.5.

    Are there any alternatives?

ps. I have been struggling with access restriction ever since I installed WP. I have used maybe 6 different plugins in various combinations, and one after another they all failed due to wp upgrades. This is really really frustrating and time consuming.

  • I too would like something like this. Does any moderators or anyone have any ideas? I agree with the updates, alot of plugins are made useless with the wordpress updates. Any thoughts?

I have found a way to modify the privatePlus plugin to partially work on wp 2.5.1. By removing a little code it can be made to allow logged in users (of all levels) to read private posts and pages. But I do not know how to change the plugin to make it work with wp_list_pages on wp 2.5.1 I do not have the time required to dig deeper into the wp code.

Now I can access private pages by direct URL but they still don’t show up in the page list. My partial solution is awaiting approval as a comment.

There’s also some promise of further development.

The Disclose Secret plugin is superior, of course. I am keeping an eye on its blog do discover new versions, would there some day be one.

    I’m optimistic.

As nobody seems to have any better options, I will rely on these two solutionsand consider this question resolved.

Have you checked the Role Scoper plugin?
