What is the jpeg quality in your settings?
And after changing that did you clear your thumbnail cache?

I’ve changed to using NextGEN gallery as I couldn’t get Foo to work for this gallery. Please see the previous thread where you helped me to position the thumbs so the heads were not cut off in the thumbs.

CAn you advice from reading that thread? I did clear thumbnail cache.

Hi, I switched to your gallery because it was more responsive than nextgen on both pc and mobile. but i have the same issues as stephenc. My heads are cut off and I cant fix and if i try to force it to 150×150 the thumbnails are blurry like it is being stretched.

    Hi

I have made some changes in the develop branch, which you can download and test here : https://github.com/fooplugins/foogallery/archive/develop.zip

When editing a gallery, hover over the images where the heads are being cut off, and click the “i” and then scroll down in the attachment fields and change the “Crop Position” to “top, middle” then the thumbs should come out as expected.

Let me know if that works for you

    Hi Bradvin,

I downloaded the zip and uploaded it to /wp-content/plugins/ directory
    then extracted the folder.

I have the little (i) when I hover over the image but when I click it, it takes me to a popup media library with attachment details for that image on the right side, I scrolled around it there is no “crop position” area. I tried edit image and nothing there either so maybe I made a mistake in uploading or something.

    thanks

Also in the gallery “Portfolio” the page comes up as https://www.ranwei.net/portfolio/gallery/accomplishments/
which doesnt make sense because I don’t have anything anymore called accomplishments. I did with nextgen, but i didnt import from nextgen i completely recreated a new gallery and called it Projects and added it to the album that the other 3 galleries are in. All the names of those are fine, but when you click on Projects, the page is /accomplishments.

Still dont haven’t figured out why “crop position” isnt showing when i click the “i”

also in that gallery, 2 of the thumbnails are different sized. the 150×150 and crop to exact dimensions are checked. I even cleared thumbnail cache.

Ahh, I figured it out. So in plugins there was 12.1.10 when the old one was 12.2.9 and I enabled the 12.1.10 and disabled the other one now I have the thing and it works GREAT!

    Hi Brad

I’m not a WordPress developer and more a plug n play type user. So when I need to update a plugin I click on the update and let the automatic stuff do it’s thing. ??

Please let me have instructions on how to install this update you have shared.

I have downloaded the zip file. Now what?

    Many thanks

    Stephen

you need to log into your hosting panel and place it in the plugins folder wp-content/plugins from your site’s root directory. then in plugins on your wordpress page, you will see it there as a duplicate but its 12.1.10 instead of 12.1.9, activate the new one then deactivate the old one. now you’r able to click the (i) and then chose a dot on the side per his instructions.

    Thanks Renscapture.

I have the following folder structure:
    >>/wp-content/plugins/foogallery/

Do I copy the files into /wp-content/plugins or into /wp-content/plugins/foogallery/

    Thanks

I have copied the zip file into /wp-content/plugins and unzipped it in the panel folder. The only version that appears in plugins in WP admin is 1.2.9. I don’t see 1.2.10.

I then copied the zip file into wp-content/plugins/foogallery/ and unzipped the file.
Same thing, only FooGallery 1.2.9 is visible.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

I’m now trying to use the same images as previously used with this new setup. I ave deleted the previous gallery and cleared the thumbnail cache. I have also cleared the trash of the deleted gallery.

Each time I upload an image it takes on the edited thumbnail edits. The image is the original one (head cut off in thumbnail) but when it appears in Foo Gallery it’s as if I it’s already been edited using the previous method with poor quality.

How do I get rid of those old thumbnails?

    Thanks

    Stephen
