• I built a new wordpress site locally and uploaded my new theme and database through my ftp client.

I CANNOT access my login. For some reason my website admin goes from

    https://www.shadedhues.com/wp-admin automatically redirects to

    https://www.shadedhues.com/wp-admin/shadedhues.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shadedhues.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

    and I get this error:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I’ve spent quite a while going over the forum looking for an answer to this problem.

I’ve deactivated plugins. I’ve changed the theme to default from the one I built. I’ve changed file names in the FTP. I spent two hours on the phone with GoDaddy hosting walking me thru setting it up. Everything looks right but I cannot access my stuff.

PLEASE HELP! I have NO website up now because of this!!

  • I a getting the same message as you shadedhues. I was uploading a new theme to a new site and made some changes. Then I went to settings to make a change and an internal server error came up. I have been searching for a fix. Let’s hope support at WP get back shortly.

I found a random youtube video I just happened upon on about my fiftieth google search and it shows a way to solve it that might be temporary, might not. For the time being it has helped me.

Go to your c-panel file manager. Click to expand your “public_html” folder and then click to expand your “wp-content” folder.

The main window on the right has the subdirectories listed of which one would be “plugins”. Right click that and rename it to “plugins_disable” or something like that.

Next go back to your site and try the “www.yourdomain/wp-admin” and it should pull up the login. Login like normal and go to your plugins on your dashboard and manually activate all the plugins you have installed.

Then go back to your c-panel and rename the “plugins_disable” folder or whatever you called it back to “plugins”.

Since I did that I’ve been able to log in and out of the dashboard and all my content is available.

Hope you have the same luck!

That’s awesome mate thanks for your help. Very kind of you. I will get into it now.

    Nic
