Plugin suddenly creating "Comment Manager" posts

  • Hey jfriedl, did you ever figure out what was going on here? Did it resolve? I’m jumping in to try to patch up some of the issues in this plugin but can’t reproduce this.

    I figured out that the plugin seems to require such a post to exist, so deleting it only sees it created again. I want wp_posts to be nothing but articles, with IDs increasing by 1 so that it shows a count, but it seems with WordPress’ recent desire to create “revision” and “draft” posts up the wazoo, this is a fight I’m destined to lose.

    Right – the plugin does create a hidden post of a custom post type (stc). It shouldn’t be showing on your front end, though….

    Perhaps whatever queries you are writing to display posts and post counts could use some filters? Perhaps limit the post type (post), status (published), etc? And generate your counts from that?

    Just thinking out loud…
