WP2.5 Sideblog 5.1 widget trouble

    Hello everybody,

    first and foremost – i’ve been googling the net and searched through this forum already but none of the possible solutions (using the dashboard_widget_fix plugin, getting rid of widget settings in the db via phymyadmin) worked.

    So, i upgraded WP to 2.5 today and i’m having some trouble with Kategarsis’ Sideblog widget plugin (v5.1 for WP2.5). After flawlessly activating it, i’m getting an error message on its settings screen (under settings/sideblog):

    Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/ronnypries/sites/ronnypries.de/html/wp-content/plugins/sideblog.php on line 294

    On the frontend of my site the message

    Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /home/ronnypries/sites/ronnypries.de/html/wp-content/plugins/sideblog.php on line 46

    pops up.

    Any ideas what might be wrong and how this problem could be fixed?

    Okay, i solved the problem by removing

    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
    define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);

    from the wp-config.php. Hope it doesn’t break anything else nor opens any doors for further issues.

    Hi,

    I am having a different problem.
    I’m updated to WP 2.5.1 and using the 5.1 version of the sideblog, and with the default set of elements in the sideblog, it all works — it shows up on the blog, but everything else that’s in that sidebar (things like archives, Meta) all disappear.

    Anyone got any ideas on what’s up with that?
