    Hi!

I successfuly exported a site I was developing on my old server and when I tried to import it back to a new hosting account I just got, it hangs while unpacking.

I’ve read many older posts about many people experiencing this issue and I found a valid dropbox link to version 2.x. However this site has some huge pictures (507MB total) and my connection is damn slow so it would really be a pain to have it upload again. It’s my understanding that the newest version has a different file format.

Moreover, I don’t seem to find a way to retry the process without uploading again, although I found the file sitting in the plugging directory. It would be cool to have an option to pick it from the machine directory.

Is there a fix for this without having to go back to old version and/or uploading the file again?

    Thanks!

    Hi Albert,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
To avoid re-uploading the file, you can upload your .wpress backup via FTP to wp-content/ai1wm-backups and use the restore option from Backups to restore the file.
You can check out our video tutorial on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRp7qTFYKgs for more details.

Would you mind reaching out to me at support at servmask.com, so I can send our Release Candidate for you to see if it fixes your Unpacking Archive issue?

    Hi!

Thank you so much for the quick response. Well… since I was a little bit in a hurry, and although I wanted to master the process of handling these things myself, since my reseller panel provider offers free migration for the first websites I finally resorted to that and have the blog up again on the new host.

However I will try this again as I really want to establish a workflow for future wordpress migrations so if I encounter the issue again I’ll come back for the RC to tests!

Thank you very much for your support.
