Hello! I installed the plugin yesterday, got it up on the site, and I’m afraid it just doesn’t seem to be working. You can see it live here:

    https://pixiespocket.com/join-us

It just says “contacting patreon” and that’s all. I’ve followed your documentation for getting set up and I’m not super familiar with API stuff, so I hope I didn’t mess anything up. I can see my userid on the page, like you say I can expect to.

The Support button works, and that’s great. Thank you!

There was a while yesterday that Patreon was down for maintenance – I took the opportunity to improve the error feedback when status messages are returned from the server. I didn’t see the tracker thingie over on your site (nice site, by the way), but you might want to give it a try again.

So it’s possible everything is hunky-dory now. If not, the big question is “are all those numbers in the setup section correct?” You should see a little blue region over to the right that says “Creator Id:” followed by a largish number. If that’s there, it means that communication with the server was successful. I suspect that’s all right though, since the button code uses that very number. (The other numbers are only used once a month when the creator access token expires.)

So please give it a try again, and tell me what you see. I’d really like to get things ironed out.

Thanks, Vikingjs (I keep running into Vikings lately! Skal!)

I’ve reinstalled the widget onto the JoinUs page: https://pixiespocket.com/join-us

It still doesn’t work, though. I see a blue region on my admin page with creator id and a 6 digit number.

Is there any other info I can give you to help sort this out? I love the idea of this widget! ??

It looks like you have something running that changes the id of widgets after I initially set up my script, which is preventing my contact-the-mother-ship script from executing properly. WordPress is telling me the id is going be one thing, and later it’s something else.

I’m going to rearrange things to make my little plugin more bullet-proof, so it doesn’t depend on the id. I’ll let you know when that’s released. Would you mind testing again at that time?

Thanks for your help and your patience!

    I don’t mind at all…I am an unofficial tester-of-things technical. ??

Holler at me when you want me to try again!

Consider yourself hollered! It may take a couple more minutes to work its way through the mighty WordPress plugin-crunchers, but release 0.4.2 is on the way.

One thing that’s going happen is the thermometer thingie is going to resize to fit the width of the container – which for you is pretty wide. Are you able to control that, or should I add a max-width setting in the options screen?

I also just realized that I’m not handling differently-sized text very intelligently. I’m going to sneak a fix for that into this release as well.

It hasn’t updated yet. I have control over that portion of the page, so no worries on the resizing issue. ??

The new version is teed up and ready to fly at www.remarpro.com . You probably already know this, but it never hurts to be sure: you will need to go to your admin area and update the plugin to see get the new code.

Hooray! It looks like things are working over there. I’m going to mark this issue as resolved. Good luck with your campaign. I’m going to e reading some of your home-brew recipes.

Right on, yes, it works great! Thank you for a great plug in! There’s not a lot out there for Patreon yet.
