Title overlaps the subtitle in Explorer but not Firefox. How do I fix this???

Everthing works just fine in firefox, but as soon as i check my site in explorer (others have said the same thing) they can’t even read my subtitle since my header is bigger and suddenly sitting on the same line as the subtitle… i have NO IDEA how to fix this other than getting a new theme and re-doing it all. and this is sort of a last resort. any ideas? no major jargon please, i’m new at this and probably wont know what you mean.
