    SA v1.6
The plugin works perfectly for the admin user at the backend, but for other users, we’ve been encountering issues.

    1. If an editor or author role user tries to add a slide to a slider post, the page refreshes without adding a new slide and resets all the content in existing slides to default.
    2. if an editor or author updates an existing slider, the contents of the slide reset to default new slide content.
I should mention that non-admins can Add Slider and Publish though, but that’s about it. I do have User Role Editor plugin enabled, but no customisations for the mentioned users with issues. I did think it may have been a capabilities thing, but is URE capabilities page, I don’t see any fields for SA custom capabilities anyway.

Can SA only be used by WP site admin users?

    More info:
When an admin user modifies and updates a slider created by a non-admin user, those changes are persistent. When a non-admin tries to edit and update after that, the recently modified content is then reset to the last admin-updated modifications, not the default placeholder content.

Hi Cecil, thanks for the feedback.

I must admit that I created this plugin initially as a developer’s tool to create WP sliders/carousels on websites with the flexibility that I couldn’t find in other free WP plugins.

My scope and initial vision for this plugin did not cover other user roles on the back-end, and it is not something I have looked at or even tested. Thanks for pointing this out though, and I will add this to my ‘TO-DO’ list for this plugin for a future release.

Hi Simon. Thanks for the clarification. I guess it was pure coincidence that, for other user roles, the SA Slider is somewhat accessible but not fully functional. Well, in any case, I look forward to when you get to this item now on your TO-DO. Still going to keep using it in the meanwhile though. Great plugin.

We’re definitely looking forward to this feature. Even if it was as simple as allowing editors and admins to perform the same tasks in this plugin, since that’s generally how it works for posts/pages.

    Thanks for a great plugin!

    Hi Simon,

I also need non-admin usage feature recently for one of my client. I found this topic while I was testing it. It seems that nothing changed about the issue. Is there any planned update soon to add that feature?

    Thanks

    Ahmet
