I have a softball team website created (www.teamsbradysbunch.com) and I love your feature of splitting the offence and defence stats on both the players page and event pages, so that I can have hitting and pitching stats separate.

    1) However, for an event, usually only 1 guy pitches and gets stats for that game, but in your feature, it shows all the players in defence and they have zero for the pitching stats. Is there a way to remove all the players on the defence stats table for the event that aren’t pitchers?

    2) The same goes for the players profile pages. For non-pitchers, I don’t select any pitching stats in their profile, but when I have the offence and defence stats separate, their hitting stats show fine, but under defence, it shows the year and team name with nothing else. Cause they aren’t pitchers, but is there a way to not show the defence stats if they are not pitchers?

    3) For players profiles, I notice that “playoff” stats show up on their profile before “Season” stats, and then the Career stats show under that. I’m assuming that it is shown in this order, cause its alphabetical (“P” for playoffs before “S” for season) Is it possible to re-order them to show Season first, then Playoffs second?

    4) Finally, I notices that in the stats, the totals appear at the bottom of the table, which is great to adding up the different seasons on the players profiles and the different players on the event. But for stats like AVG, SLG, ERA, etc… they are adding it up when it should be an average of them? I know that there is not any feature or way to fix this now, but can you figure out a way to address this in a future update?

Thanks for your help, I love using this plugin and it is a great tool to communicate our team online and to our players directly.

    Hey Roch
Just checking if you suggestions or feedback on addressing the offense and defense stats issues that I wrote above?

    Thanks

Can someone who is monitoring this board please respond to my inquiries and questions? I notice that other postings are being addressed, but I haven’t seen anyone get back to my questions with regards to offense/defense stats.

    Thank you.

    For 1) try this

When you edit an event you’ll see that you have tabs in the player selection list where you can switch between Offense and Defense and in this way you can select or deselect players showing up in the specific category.

    Thanks sagund07 for the response.

For 1), its weird, when I go into the settings for the event, it displays the offense and defense separately but it only does show the pitcher in the defence section, and all the batters in the offence section. Which is good. But on the event page on the web, it showed all the players in defence section.

However, all the different stat categories were unchecked for both offence and defence, so I went through and check them all. I saved the event, then when it reloaded, all the stats were unchecked still. But when I looked on the event page on the web, all the players were removed from the defence section except for the pitcher. So now it is displayed correctly, but not sure how or why it is doing that. It seems to be a glitch in the display in the edit of the event.

    https://teambradysbunch.com/archives/event/1317 – showing correctly now.

It also only fixed it for that particular event, when all the rest of the events still show it incorrectly. So it seems to fix every event, I’ll have to go through every event on my site for the past 9 seasons and manually fix each one, ouch… there has to be a better way.

Thanks for your help in that suggestion, it helped to display it correctly, but not sure why it worked that way.

    For 1) questions –

So I have figured out that on the right column under the event edit page, for the player selection for the event, there is now a offense, defense and staff option to select each player. So I have figured out that you need to select the players for both offense and defense. They now show up correctly, but there is still the error of checking the stats to show on the event page. When I check some of them to show, it still shows them all, and I cant just show some of them.

I still haven’t found a way to update all my previous events, I still have to manually go in and select the defense players and check the stats showing boxes to make it update on the event page. A very manual work that I’ll have to do for the 300 past events from over the past 9 seasons.

    Update on 4)

It appears that the ERA total line on the player profile is working correctly for only the season total and the career total, but for the playoff total, it is still adding up all the seasons. Its weird, but for the season and career it is calculating the avg of all the ERA from each season.

However, for batters, the AVG, SLG and OBP are still adding up all the seasons as a total and not the overall avg.

    Hi there!

We’ve just updated the plugin to include this option. If you still need any help after udpating, please let us know, but if possible open one topic per question, as many issues in the same topic get long and confusing really fast

    Kind Regards,
    -Roch
