Image filenames mucked with even when image import fails

So there’s a checkbox for importing images (which are not included in the XML export – so they must be downloaded directly from the old blog). Research on these forums show it only intermittently works. My guess would be if the blog is too big, the PHP times out before completion. I checked this box and sure enough images did not import.
So I copied them directly. But it turns out this plugin added a “-1” to the filename of each image in the img tag on each blog post. So much manual work is necessary to correct.
I would recommend making blog post img code updates the very last step, only after image import happens successfully.
