Align Header img and Menu in Twenty Sixteen

So far I’ve added this:

.site-header-main {
float: left;
font-size: 11px;
}
.header-image {
clear: none;

Now header image is to the right of the menu and i’d like for it to be on the left. I’ve tried this with no luck:

.header-image {
clear: right;

I ended up getting rid of the header image and instead adding it as a background image to the menu adding this to style.css:

.site-header-main {
background: url(“https://newsite.jessicaquadra.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/cropped-Jessica-Quadra-logo-mobile-gold.png”);
background-size: contain;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
float: left;
padding-left: 265px;
