    Greetings,
I was able to make ThirstyAffiliates work on my local server (XAMPP on Windows 7), but once I installed the plugin on my host and set it up similar to what I have locally, it just opens a new blank tab.

I Tested it by adding an affiliate link with https://www.google.com/ as the destination URL and Google Test as link name, then clicked the Visit Link button after the cloaked URL was generated.

Some of the things I’ve tried on the remote host but did not work:
    – Checked if .htaccess is writable by wordpress/server
    – Disabled all plugins except ThirstyAffiliates and then resave/flushed the permalinks settings
    – Switched to default 2016 theme, with other plugins still disabled
    – Tried other URL prefixes available

Are there any configuration settings that I might be missing or could this be a host/server issue?

  • Hey madastro,

Since it was working on your localhost, I’d say this is a host based issue.

Can you tell me a bit more about the server setup? Is it IIS or Apache? Anything else strange about it?

Are your permalinks set correctly to “post name” or similar (not default)?

    Thanks
    Josh

    Thanks Josh,

Yeah looks like it was a host-based issue, quite odd. Setup is Apache and permalinks set to /category/postname. Anyway, custom url prefix did it for me when the available keywords didn’t, currently using /aff/ which works.

    Thanks again man, cheers!

    Awesome, thanks for the update!

    Glad it working now ??

    Cheers,
    Josh
