Open in new tab disabled on links

Is there any particular reason why command-click (i.e., open in a new tab) is disabled when this plugin is active? I like the transitions, but this is something I miss, and if the code could be tweaked to allow it, I’d prefer that.

I’ve tested in all browsers. When the plugin is active, command-click doesn’t open a new tab but opens the link in the current window. Deactivating the plugin brings command-click back on the same install.
