How to insert multiple pictures into post?

I find inserting multiple pictures from the new media library into post problematic. The multiple upload features really cool of course and fast too but after I did a multiple upload, e.g. I uploaded 5 pictures, I could only insert one picture from the list of the 5 and the overlay window closes. When I clicked on add image again, the uploaded images doesn’t show up anymore and I have to get them from the media library. That kind of defeat the purpose of having the multiple upload system. I hope the WordPress team can re-custom that overlay and make it easier for adding multiple pictures into posts after a multiple upload was done or could anyone IT-savvy create a plugin for this? >_<
