    This is really a question for Pubmed support but I’ll try anyway. Pubmed queries can include address information using the [ad] tag. Before 2014, however, only the first author’s information was available to search, so you might have false negatives.

    In addition, the address search can be quirky. It does very badly with my institution (Texas A&M University), possibly because of the & and the alternate ways people put spaces around the &. There may also be differences in how the information gets passed from the journals. So you may have to play with this.

    For the per year search, use the date published [dp] tag.

    So, for my department in 2016 I might use:

    2016[dp] AND biochemistry[ad] AND biophysics[ad] AND 77843[ad]

    where 77843 is our zip code.

    note that although the abbreviations are in parentheses in that page, the query should use brackets.
