Hi, I was prompted by my host GoDaddy to deactivate my plugins in WP to troubleshoot which ones were eating a lot of my cpu. Someone on GoDaddy’s end, did so before I knew it (on their end). What I found was that once my WP Easycart was deactivated, and Re-activated, I was prompted to enter my serial# code to say I was registering the product again, and a lot of the work I had done was gone (like Shipping zones, shipping rates etc).

I had no idea that deactivating the plugin would mean losing data and having to sort of register the product again (because other plugins retain the changes and info I had implemented).

While I had downloaded/exported Design/products/database prior to the deactivation… that is another thing, while Design/products info for getting those downloads into my filemanager and getting them back into the program (though not sure they actually worked for me, but at least it was easy to follow the instruction/details given), the Database info for uploading it back into the plugin, is Very difficult to understand. I am not fully skilled in code, but could understand the info for Design and products, but could not figure out Database. It was too confusing for me. ALso, not sure if my shipping zones/rates/etc info are within the database download?

So my questions are, why must we re-register the product upon reactivating the plugin, and why did I lose the data deactivating the plugin (thus making the plugin act like it was the first time I was using it)?

As a side note, I have the admin plugin as well, and I have purchased the product. I have another question about a ton of code that is showing on every page in my wp site, but will open another support topic for that.
    Thanks in advance.

I may or may not know why this occurred and it may or may not have to do with the original plugin residing in a different cpanel directory. I will have to investigate further when I have time.

THough I still would like more info on how to properly (in layman terms) upload the database (as again the details didn’t make much sense as posted above).
    thanks.
