Matt —
I have a multisite install that is new with only the main site set up and the network administration is where i install the plugins. ngnx on digital ocean ubuntu trusty 14
I just installed and activated wordfence network wide. in the main site, the plugin showed up but without the option to activate there as I expected — It did show as network only below it’s name via installed plugins view. — however you say if it is network activated it won’t show on any sites on your repo page…
Also when first network activated — the wordfence super user admin link to set up scanning and the firewall etc didn’t appear. I network deactivated it and the main site still showed it as network only – so no option to activate from main site as I expected would be the case.
I reactivated it once again and the wordfence admin menu appeared. I set the firewall up and saved. i got a notice that i needed to configure the firewall, i set it up and saved again. It worked.
I set up the options and they saved. I did a scan and I got two warnings — one about htaccess being avail publicly that i should delete due to nginx and one about user ini — telling me to delete it. htaccess has the general rewrite rules — not for multisite and user ini contains this:
;; Wordfence WAF
auto_prepend_file = ‘/*/*/*.com/public/wordfence-waf.php’
; END Wordfence WAF
wordfence says to delete these, please advise, especially about that user ini file. thanks!
Also — another person asked about the WAF my files AREN’T located in this kind of path:
/var/www/html/
thank you for your excellent product and cutting edge reports. I really appreciate you all very much.
