i have just had someone make my website yesterday:

    www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk

it is not loading for for me for ages, literally minutes. Then when it does load, it will only continue loading quickly when its cached. when i clear my cache and visit the link, it does not load again.
can someone visit and test it

the “web designer” has not spoken to me since taking payment.

I had originally made the website on WIX, and i think its on some kind of redirect/parked domain or something from wix still, as when i visit an old wix link ( www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk/#!blank/cee5 ) it is loading my new wordpress website.

    thanks

  • limelightcarpetcleaning,

I was able to load your website, quickly without any issues. I am using Chrome and am located in the UK.

not working for me on any browser or device (2X laptop, 2x phone, IE, Chrome, Firefox), even after clearing cache.

all other online websites on the internet are working ok.

    anyone else seeing it okay?

can anyone tell me why my old WIX wesite link still links to my new wordpress website.

for instance is i type my old wix link
    www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk/#!blog/rcmge
it takes me to the homepage of my new wordpress website, why?

if i visit my new site: https://www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk
then put something random that doesn’t exist for example
    www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk/kjsnkjdfkjndkjfndjknfkjdn

it shows website link cannot be found. why is it still finding my wix link, and redirecting to my new website, if its not just my old site on some type of parked domain/redirect, or whatever you call them.

Who is managing the domain https://www.limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk? It seems to have been registered with 123-Reg, was that you?

If you do have access, log in and make sure that you do not have any DNS records pointing to WIX as this is what could be causing the conflict.

    hello.

yes i registered the domain about 4 months ago,

its no longer pointing at wix, its pointing at my tsohost (wordpress)

    the issue was,
a dummy wordpress domain was created to make the website, ( https://www.dummywordpress.website ) – then the designer could not figure how to change the domain name from dummywordpress.website to limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk – as it was different than how godaddy do it, or something.

so then he had like 2 days of messing around with it, then finally did a php transfer or something.

I just want to be sure now that my website isn’t on a redirect from dummywordpress.website, to my own website, as it can hurt seo.

so that is my main question. is my website limelightcarpetcleaning.co.uk – an actual website of its own, not a redirect dummywordpress.website – as the designer didn’t instill much confidence in knowing how to change the name of the domains.
