  • emileswedd898,

    The good news is I am having no problems visiting your website. Have you tried using a different browser? Have you made any recent changes to your WordPress website?

    Hi Grant,
    Thanks for looking at this issue for me.
    I can go on my website but I can’t access the dasboard. emilesweddingboutique.com/wp-admin. I was trying to look at the setting on WordPress. But now I can’t get in. For some reason.

    emileswedd898,

    I went to access your dashboard and got the same error as you. Your dashboard appears to be trying to us an SSL connection. The first part of the URL is (https://) instead of (https://).

    If you don’t want to use an SSL, try opening your wp-config.php file and checking to see if the following line is present. Make sure if it is, that it’s set to false.

    define('FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', true);

    Should be as seen here.

    define('FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', false);

    Grant.

    Hi grant,
    Again thanks for looking after this for me.
    Unfortunately I can’t seem to be able to do it and I have been trying everything. Is there a way of a easy r simple step by step to be able to access the admin on my website and to change the settings. I can even email u all the password it’s a very new website and there is only a few photo and post on it.
    Thanks Josh

    Hello emileswedd898,

    Just wanted to know if you managed to solve your problem, because I’m getting the same here, just after redirecting the nameservers from WordPress.com to Bluehost.

    Did what Grant just suggested work ? How did you do it ?

    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Thanks, Grant, for your solution to this. I also reset my URLs to https and when I changed them back I guess I forgot to hit Save Changes. I’ve been unable to get in as my address bar kept returning a Not Secure return. I added your define line to my wp-config file (it wasn’t there) and it worked. I got back into my site and corrected the URLs and this time I remembered to save it.

    Thanks, you’re a lifesaver.

    Ok, I have to retract my previous post. While adding the define line to my wp-config file worked as far as getting me into my dashboard, that’s all it’s done. I still can’t access the actual site, either through the dashboard or by doing an online search. I still get the Not Secure search results. I even reinstalled WP hoping it would reset whatever screwup there was but it didn’t work. I’m not sure what else to try.

    Ok, got it fixed. Not completely sure what I did. Several steps tried from reinstalling WP to changing antivirus to doing a system restore to rebooting several times. Everything seems to be working properly now but I don’t know why. Hopefully, it stays good this time.
