On my site, which is just a personal page about myself for job searching etc purposes, I’m using the Featured section of the front page with the three columns to link to my About Me, Resume, and Publications pages.

My frustration has been that you can’t seem to set where the text excerpt cuts off. I assumed the standard WP More Inside tag would to it, but it doesn’t. So as a result I have to either just let the sentences be cut off, which looks unfinished, or wordsmith them over and over until just the right amount shows up and it cuts off at a point that makes sense.

Am I missing something? Is there a tag or something I can insert into the page content so the excerpt ends where I want it to, instead of arbitrarily after a word/character count like it seems to now?

    Thanks!

    Hello karenkaz,

Please edit the pages in the featured area section, and enter the text you want to show into the Excerpt of the page. In order to view the Excerpt field, click “Screen Options” on the top right – and then click the “Excerpt” checkbox. You should now see an Excerpt field at the bottom of the page. Enter the text you’d like to show in the Excerpt field and save your page.

    Thanks and best of luck!
