Fatal Error on Upgrade

  • Upgraded to 2.5, but kept getting this fatal error:

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/usr/www/users/psgworks/10hours/wordpress/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /usr/www/users/psgworks/10hours/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php on line 8

    I deleted upgrade.php on remote server, re loaded with no luck. Deleted all wp-admin files and uploaded only upgrade ones (bad idea, I think) and now I get abudget login page but still the same fatal error.

    Any ideas?

    Do I need to revert to my back up?

    FWIW, the site shows fine (no categories)…

  • Make sure you have the wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php file on the server. You first error was missing that file!
