Hi, let me see if I understand your question correctly. You would like to sell a product example $10 and automatically add the 3% fee that PayPal charges to the $10 product cost? Is this correct?

If it is correct then perhaps this documentation can help you.

That is correct. I’ll have to take a look at that documentation a little closer.

Thank you for the help. Maybe I can get it working! Not the strongest WP user! LOL

You should price your product taking into account any charges that the payment gateway may charge.

The following is just my personal opinion:

Buyers don’t like to see this kind of separate charges and stuff (it can put them off). I hate it when I go to buy a product and it has all kinds of extra charge. I prefer to just see and pay an all inclusive price.

mra13- I totally agree with you on the “perception” but here’s the issue…

Say I sell an item for $100. Paypal fee is 3% or $3. Total of $103.

So your suggestion is to simply make it $103 (if I’m understanding correctly). The problem with that is that now you have $103 item with 3% attached as well. So you’re losing money still. It’s a vicious PayPal cycle! LOL

Thanks for the input though. I really do appreciate it!

Hi @ryan, I think what @mra13 meant is this.

Lets say you have an item for $100. And you sell it for $100. The item already has the 3% added in the value. It’s like saying $100 plus GST “Good Services Tax” included.

Now in your example above, you can sell it for $103 if that is what you want. Which means that you added the 3% fee PayPal charges. You are still making a profit even though PayPal will now charge the 3% on the $103 you added ??

Its a win win situation for you ?? and the customer will not know the difference. All the customer will know is that the item cost $100 or in your case $103.

    In my humble opinion.

When you include everything in your price, you can also say something like the following on your webpage.

All prices you see on the site include tax and any other cost.
