    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    – If the above trouble shooting steps do not help, then try Enabling debugging and post the results.

Tara I am running it on basic wordpress plan so no plugins installed. Let me try switching to another theme.

You’re posting in the wrong place and need to ask in the correct forum: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support
This forum here is for self-hosted WordPress.ORG software installations.
This link explains the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
    It’s a common misunderstanding. ??
