• Hello,

I just upgraded to 2.5, and according to the upgrade.php page, everything is working fine. But when I try to upload images (in Firefox 2.0.0.13) I get a blank screen after I tell it to insert the image into my post.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you,
    Kristan

UPDATE: I’m having several other problems and going through the forums trying to fix… Can we have a one-click upgrade next time?

I did clear my browser cache, deactivate all my plugins, re-install the upgrade, and then activate all my plugins again, and that… helped. I can insert an image in HTML mode — NOT in visual editor.

    One step at a time, I suppose…

i have the same problem , you can see the error from firefox here ,the error is present with IE7 or Opera. The errors look like this and like this.

There are several problems that systems can have with the new uploader.

I’ve tried to detail them here:

If those don’t work, check back later, we’re adding to it all the time.

NEW SOLUTION: Make sure your WordPress tab is the ONLY tab open at the time.

Works for me! Hopefully someone will find a better solution (i.e., one that lets us upload images while other tabs are open).

Same image upload problem, but with WP 2.3.3. What to do? I’ve tried deactivating plugins, installing the latest Flash, downloading and using Firefox, clearing the cache in Firefox and Safari, using one tab. Nothing works.

2.3.3 does not have any of the new uploader stuff, it will not have the same problems. All the new uploader stuff is specific to 2.5.

Any thoughts on where to look for a solution? I’m clearly not able to upload photos in WP 2.3.3 and am encountering the same problems as described by several folks that recently installed WP 2.5 — images won’t upload and when I attempt to upload an image, I get a box with a question mark inside. And nothing shows up in the gallery when I browse. The problem surfaced Sunday and just is oddly similar to what others with WP 2.5 are experiencing.

after further testing, I’m convinced it’s a login problem. I’ve noticed that when I have a failure during the final step of actually inserting image into post ( and this is intermittent, as I’ve posted before) upon clicking on “view site” from admin panel, it says “login” instead of “site admin” (under META)even though I’m logged in enough to write the post and upload image.

    hope this helps, Otto42

Like cdinside, I am getting the “An error occurred, please try again later.”

Unlike kristanlh, using one tab has not helped. Using the latest Firefox, tried clearing the cache, etc.

It does not appear to be wp-admin or wp-install. I have deleted and reinstalled these from a re-downloaded wordpress 2.5 zip file. I’ve deactivated all plugins.

I’m also having the “image upload” problem in 2.5. I’m using Safari.

I am getting this error too. Both for Video and Images. It happens during “crunching.” It acts like a permission problem or file space but that’s not it. I’m getting this on a clean install as I’m new to wordpress.

Is there any problem with loading it via FTP? I’m pretty confused by how all this works. I’m using Options theme and either it’s not showing the vid or I haven’t told the theme where it is at. I’m not certain.

    Lots of help needed.

    Thanks

Same problem here, but not during crunching, I get all the way to “insert image into Post” then the box just turns white and does nothing…

Using the No Flash Uploader per Otto42’s post has solved the problem for me, since I can now upload photos again.

The No Flash Uploader didnt change anything. Which folder are you supposed to put it in?
