• Hey guys,

I’m trying to access a WordPress I created a couple years back, and while I do remember my username and password, it is requiring me to verify via Google Authenticator, or as an alternative to this, via text.

The problem is that I don’t have access to the Google Authenticator app, and I don’t have that phone number to which the texts are incoming anymore.

All I have with me is: my user email, my username and user password. Perhaps even the smartphone where I installed the authenticator app.

What can I do? Is there any way for me to prove ownership and be granted access again? I really want to get this site out of the internet. Thanks in advance!

Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the directory of the plugin you were using to add Google Authenticator support to the site.

Then you’ll be able to log in normally with your username and password.
