Are you talking about “rank-checker.online” or “rank.checker.online”?

I see that “rank-checker.online” is in the public block list already and is working successfully on my test sites. I use a variety of sites to test with different configurations, including WPMU.

“rank.checker.online”, however, is not in the public list. It would only get blocked if you add it manually. When adding domains to the list be sure to just use the domain. For example “rank.checker.online” will work, but “https://rank.checker.online/something/else.html” will not.

What is the domain of your site? I can test it using my validation tools to see if it’s easy for me to reproduce the issue.

Are you certain that the plugin is active on your website? I’ve tested about a dozen random domains from the blocklist and none are actually being blocked.

Please confirm. If you’re comfortable with providing me with a login for your site in order to troubleshoot the problem, I’d be willing to work with you. Otherwise, would you be open to a screensharing session?

Are you hosting on a private/virtual server or shared hosting? Who is your hosting provider?

Update – are you by any chance using WPMU for your site? I saw some gaps for WPMU and closed them up, posted a new update. Please confirm. I’m on standby to help.

WPMU is when you turn wordpress from a single site in to a full network of sites. Stands for “WordPress Multi User”.

As I mentioned before, the plugin does not appear to be active on your site. Can you please confirm that the plugin is enabled?

Very strange, it is showing as active. Just updated to version 1.2.3.

I just re-ran a test on your site and can confirm the plugin appears to be working at this time.

I’ve tested using the referrers “semalt.com” and “rank-checker.online”. Both appear to be effectively blocked.

Please monitor for the next 48 hours – you should see a dramatic reduction in hits from these referrers.

Are you using any type of CDN, masking, or forwarding on your site?

I do have a redirect plugin from when I changed my Permalink.

I’ve deactivated it.
