I’ve noticed that when I update a recurring event in Event Calendar Pro, each of the recurring events results in a 301 redirect being created. This occurs even though the URLs do not change when the recurring events are re-created.

    For example:

    1) I create a recurring event that starts on Mar 25, and recurs for three more days (Mar 25, 26, 27, and 28).
    2) I edit the description of the recurring event and update it. The Events Calendar Pro plugin deletes the old event records and re-creates them with the updated description.
    3) When I go to the Redirection list, three 301 redirection records were created. They all have the Source URL of the first calendar event

    /event/sample-event-2/2016-03-25/

…and the Target URL of the remaining redirects are for each of the recurring dates:

    /event/sample-event-2/2016-03-26/
    /event/sample-event-2/2016-03-27/
    /event/sample-event-2/2016-03-28/

None of these re-directs seem necessary, and they all seem to be attempting to redirect the same URL to three other destinations.

Any ideas on how to stop the bogus redirects from being created?

I was able to resolve this by going into the Options page of the Redirection plugin, and setting “Monitor changes to posts” to “Don’t monitor”.
