Category.php page isn't working, it redirects to Posts page

Hello,

I have created a category.php, although when I click onto a category on the front-end from within a blog, it just goes to the blog listing page instead of the category.

I have tried resetting my permalinks. It seems to be completely ignoring my category.php file.
