Gravity Forms & Dynamic Fields Caching

Running into an issue when attempting to populate a gravity forms dynamic field using the gform_field_value hook. See:

Working fine when disabling caching, but the output is always cached when w3 is enabled for the specific page.

Any insight on a workaround / is this default w3 behavior?
