How do I get posts in both the slider and the news posts area?

If I make a post sticky it will appear in the header (slider) but will be removed from the news posts area. I still want the post to appear under the header with the rest of the posts. There is another WP site that uses Magazino where it does exactly what I want but I can’t see any difference in the customize settings. Also, what does the slider option “enable pager” do? I cannot see any effect.
