I can get the guest author displayed when previewing the page in WordPress but when I publish, no author box shows up with the post, nor do the comments show under the post.
I’m using a Submit Blog form from Access Press Anonymous Post and attributing the author using Guest Author
Why would it show up in preview but not live online?

    Hi Leemack,

is the footer being displayed, though?

What is the behavior on standard post pages (those created by a registered user using WP edit page, not the plugin you mentioned). Do they show the author box and the comments section?

What happens if you deactivate our plugin, is the post page displayed properly (with the comments section and so on)?

No footer is being displayed either.
Standard posts also have no author, date, or comments, although they show up in preview.
Deactivating your plugin has no effect, still the same result.

    Anything I can check?

    Hi Leemack,

if deactivating our Molongui Authorship plugin doesn’t solve your issue, it means that it has nothing to do with it, so the plugin IS NOT causing any issue.

With that said, I would suggest you turn on debug mode. What you describe might be related with some PHP error.

Also, are you using any shortcode within the post? If so, try removing it to check if the problem persists. If not, you have found the culprit.

You could also try to deactivate other plugins (used in post pages and one by one) and check if the problem persists. If you find the culprit, you should contact the plugin developer.

    Hope this helps!

OK, I’ll try debug mode and I’ll look for shortcode involved with installation of AccessPress Anonymous Post.
Did the Guest Author installation require inserting a shortcode as part of the installation proccss?

The only other shortcode we installed was by itself on the Submit Blog page [ap-form]
I am correct in thinking it’s not causing a problem if it’s on the submit blog page by itself?

Would I run debug on a individual post or someplace else?

    Hi Leemack,

the Molongui Authorship plugin does not require the use of any shortcode. In fact, shortcodes are only available with the Premium version of the plugin.

I don’t know how AccessPress Anonymous Post works, but I guess that you are right when you say that shortcode is not the cause of the problem. In fact, it is not a post page. You should look just into posts. If there is no shortcode there that you inserted, forget about shortcodes being the cause of your issues.

Anyway, if you are suspicious AccessPress Anonymous Post is causing you trouble, try to deactivate it and check if your problems persist. If not, you have found the culprit.

When you enable the debug mode, you enable it on the whole site, but you should just check a post from the frontend. If there is any PHP message, you will see it on the top of the page (normally… it could also appear anywhere else, though).
