Hello Praveen- Nice to see you back around.

Sorry to say, I am close to moving to a different plugin (not my choice) because CVG stopped working for me recently.

For one, I was (and still am) getting a Error#2035 when I tried to view a video from a desktop (both from within the admin and on the front end.) It was still working on mobile but not on a desktop. Seemed to be a flash error.

But now, since the recent update, I no longer have any galleries displaying on the front end. I believe it has to do with this a problem that came up 6 months ago. SOmeone posted a fix to remove the quotes from the shortcodes, which did get it working again. But I have put them back since the update and I am still not getting the galleries to view.

I’ve always appreciated CVG. I don’t want to switch. But I’m at my wits end here. Don’t know if you can shed any light.

    Let me know.
    Thanks.

OK. I just tried two different video gallery plugins and neither is half as good as CVG was. Can we make this work, my friend?

    Here is a link:

Maybe you can take a look and help me sort it out.
If you make this happen with me, I am going to give you some money.

    @brown,

Please remove the quotes from the shortcodes added in posts/pages and check again. And no moneys ??

I have tried this and still no go. You can see on the homepage, the shortcode is there both with and without the quotes.

I can see the thumbs in admin but still cannot play the videos. There is still a Error#2035 showing.

    What else can we try?

Please paste shortcode you are using in website here. I’ll try my best. And any changes in plugin code you have made ? Are you using youtube videos or self hosted videos?

    Thread Starter J. Brown

    (@jbrown-1)

    Here is the shortcode:

    [cvg-gallery galleryId=21 /]

I did not make any changes and I just updated to the latest version.

    Only using Youtube videos.

Did you add youtube API key in gallery settings to fetch videos from youtube? Youtube API 3.0 requires user to use API key for fetching video details.

    Thread Starter J. Brown

    (@jbrown-1)

No. There was not an API key there. But there has never been an API key there and it always worked before.

    Is this new?

And the thumbs and info are being fetched in the admin.

Just now I looked and it appears that an API key was created for CVG. I put the key into settings and still the same.

But I also noticed a “Site Verification” tab. I have placed the DNS at the nameserver but it has not propagated yet.

Everything was working up until a month or so ago. Did something change?

Oh! The videos were there before the plugin upgrade. So the thumbs and info and video url will be already in your database. Key is only for new videos when adding. So it should not matter. What is WP version? Are you able to play from admin section? Are you able add individual video to front end? I’m not sure about the site verification you mentioned. I hope it has nothing related with CVG.

    Thread Starter J. Brown

    (@jbrown-1)

Yes. All the video galleries are in the database prior to upgrade.

    WP Version 4.4.2

No. The videos will not play in admin section. The thumbs are there. When I click thumb the lightbox open with a play button. But there is a black strip that says Error#2035.

Before the last update, the galleries were still displaying in the front end and I was able to watch on a mobile device without the error. But since the update, the galleries are gone.

Any recent changes to youtube videos? HTML5 enabled? Any chance I can get access to admin panel to check the issue? Can you also downgrade the plugin to previous version and check again.

    Thread Starter J. Brown

    (@jbrown-1)

    No changes to videos.
    Html5 enabled.

Not able to downgrade and check right now but you are welcome to have access. There is nothing on there that needs to be protected (Let me know after you take a look so I can change the password later.)

OK. I just found CVG version 1.8 and downgraded.
You can now see what I had before the latest update.

The galleries now show in the front.
But you can see they don’t play.

I do hope we can sort this. And I will find a way to make it up to you.

OK. With version 1.8, everything is working fine on Safari and Chrome and on my phone but I still get the error with Firefox.

    Why would that be?

    Plugin Author Praveen Rajan

    (@praveen-rajan)

Firefox enabled youtube to play with only HTML5. It will not fallback to flash player and hence the issue in firefox. Either html5 video for youtube need to be disabled or I need to work on accommodating html5 changes for youtube. I’ll check on the issue of 2.0 and get back to you.

Please delete pass from your post. I’m checking it now.
